Main electoral states are leveraging cloud computing platform

By using Google insight in two consecutive period we were able to find how additional US states are joining the cloud computing fever. In this post we discovered that states like Florida, Illinois and others are using the cloud platforms 100% more than a year ago.

In April 2010, we published a Google insight comparison between search frequency using three keywords.

  • Amazon AWS
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Google App Engine

Today we decided to give it another shot and compare how the three platforms
have kept up.

As you can see in the image below, the best month for GAE was May 2010, following the upward trend from April 2010. After May 2010, GAE have been consistently falling in comparison with the other two giants (Amazon and Microsoft).

In another note, Azure platform have been trending slightly down but keeping up at all times with Amazon AWS.

Another interesting comparison from last year trend is the geographic location of the searches. Last year, Florida was not in the picture. This year, Florida, Georgia, and Illinois are searching more, which means that Cloud Computing is finally established in all main metropolitan areas in the US. Not to offend any metro areas not mentioned.
