Project Management Conversations Started

Dear reader, please think for a moment on the following question:

Have you been on a project, were things are not going as expected, and you know the reason, but the PM or team members are not paying attention to you?

Come on!  You have not even think for 10 seconds.  That’s fine.  We have all been in similar scenarios, and probably multiple times.  Probably the right thing to do, is to ship in our opinion and try to get the project back on track.  Why not try something different for a change?  Those of you which do, congratulations!

Leave a comment below with your anecdote of when you were in this situation.  I am looking forward for your comments and stories.

My name is Geo, I have been leading and managing technology operations and project for more than 11 years. Technology is not even a job anymore, I crave it every morning when I wake up.  Technology, and more than just technology, technology that makes business solutions better, are my goals with all my clients.

Please join me through my journey of closing the gap between reality and project management science.  This is what this blog is all about. Do you know that more projects are considered a failure because success factors are not shared with the right people?

That and much more to come.  Stay tune, Geo

    Hello Geo,

Your posts on PM practice will make a difference in the PMI world. I look forward reading your stories. I see that you contribute to StackExchange, kudos for that! I love that site myself.

Since you ask, I will share part of my anecdote with the world.

About 3 years ago, while I was acting director in medium size organization, I advise a peer PM in another group to prepare and distribute a communication plan. The main purpose was to minimize “meeting emails” (emails threads that never stop). He decided not to pay attention to this advice, later finding that two of his main requirements were changed during an email conversation and he was not aware of it. This situation led to the non-acceptance of the project by the client.

    Regards,
    Marylou

I know what you mean, I have a few topics planed around User Acceptance for big projects. Stay tuned and let me know what you think.
